Is text on photos recognized (OCR)?
Currently, the tool inserts images into the document “as is”. This is convenient for creating collections of scans, but Word will not be able to edit the text inside the image.

No. The file is generated by the browser engine. You will need an office package just to open the result later.
Is it safe for confidential documents?
Yes. The application architecture excludes sending files to the server. Neither site administrators nor traffic interceptors can access your sources.
