Electricity costs

⚡ We calculate the real costs of electricity

Have you ever wondered how many rubles a month your heater, powerful gaming computer or old refrigerator “eats”? This calculator converts incomprehensible watts and kilowatts into a specific amount in rubles.

📝 How to calculate accurately?

You need to find just one number - power consumption (W/W). It is always indicated on a sticker on the back of the device or on the power supply. Enter it, indicate the working hours per day and your tariff for electricity - the result will appear instantly.

Where to look for “energy eaters”?

Most often, appliances that heat or cool inflate bills. Check these first:

  • Climate: Heaters, air conditioners, heated floors (consume 1000–2500 W).
  • Kitchen: Electric kettles, electric stoves, ovens.
  • Boilers: Water heaters operate cyclically, so set the approximate active heating time (usually 3-5 hours a day).

If you are planning to repair or update wiring for powerful equipment, we recommend taking a look at our general section calculators, where you can find tools for construction and electrical calculations.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

🔹 What is kWh and how is it different from kW?

kW (kilowatt) is the power of the device (how quickly it spends energy). And kWh (kilowatt-hour) is the amount of energy that the device spent per hour of operation. We pay bills per kWh.

🔹 Where can I find out the power if there is no sticker?

Delete the device model + the word “characteristics”. If the model is unknown, use average values: iron ~2000 W, laptop ~60 W, TV ~100 W, phone charging ~5-10 W.

🔹 How to save money knowing your expenses?

1. Replace all lamps with LED ones (save up to 80% on lighting).
2. Don't leave your equipment in standby mode (the red light on the TV also wastes money).
3. Boil in the electric kettle exactly as much water as you need now.
