File download speed

⏱️ How long will it take to download the file?

Are you planning to download a 100GB game or upload a video to YouTube? Our calculator will help you plan your time accurately. No more guessing whether the file will be downloaded before you leave.

🚀 How to use:
  1. Enter file size (for example, 50 GB).
  2. Indicate your Internet speed (usually indicated in the provider’s tariff, for example, 100 Mbit/s).
  3. Get an accurate wait time forecast.

Where is this useful?

  • 🎮 Gamers: Find out how many hours a new game will download on Steam or PS Store (modern games often weigh more than 100 GB).
  • 💼 Freelancers: Calculate how long it will take to send the project to the customer. If you need to convert bits to bytes or megabits, use our speed converter.
  • 🌐 Webmasters: Evaluate the speed of loading content on the site. By the way, for your projects we have a useful time informer generator.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

🔹 Why is the actual download speed lower than that stated by the provider?

Providers indicate the speed in Megabits (Mbps), and programs indicate the speed in Megabytes (MB/s). There are 8 bits in 1 byte. Therefore, if your tariff is 100 Mbps, the actual download speed will be about 12.5 MB/s. The load on the network and the operation of the Wi-Fi router also affect it.

🔹 How to speed up loading?

Try connecting the Ethernet cable directly to the PC (Wi-Fi often slows down), close background programs (torrents, Windows updates) and check if someone else is downloading on your network.

🔹 4G, 5G or Wi-Fi - which is faster?

Usually cable Internet and modern Wi-Fi (5 GHz) are more stable and faster. However, 5G networks can provide speeds that exceed home Internet, but they are not yet available everywhere.
