Okroshka calculator
🥒 Perfect okroshka without extra ingredients
You no longer need to guess how much sausage and potatoes to buy so that the okroshka does not turn out to be “just slush” or, conversely, salad. Our algorithm calculates classic proportions of ingredients based on the number of guests.
💡 How it works:
- Indicate how many people will eat (or how many servings you want to prepare).
- Select a dressing (Kvass, Kefir, Ayran/Whey or Water).
- Choose the filling (Classic sausage, boiled beef, chicken or vegetarian option).
- Get a ready-made shopping list with the weight of each product.
Where is this calculation useful?
- Family lunch: Quickly estimate the ingredients for a family of 4-5 people.
- Trip to the country: If you are traveling with a large group, it is important to buy exactly as much as they will eat over the weekend, so that the food does not spoil.
- Nutrition control: Knowing the exact weight of the ingredients, it is easier to calculate the calorie content of a dish (to do this, use our section Health and Diet).
By the way, the resulting list can be copied with one button and sent to someone who is currently in the store!
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
🔹 What is the volume of one serving in the calculation?
We have included a “generous” standard portion - approximately 350–400 grams (or milliliters). This is enough to feed an adult.
🔹 What proportions are considered classic?
The gold standard of okroshka: potatoes, cucumbers and meat filling should be approximately equal. The liquid is taken 2-2.5 times more in weight than the grounds. Our calculator maintains exactly this balance.
🔹 How to count okroshka without meat?
In the “Meat filling” drop-down list, select “Meat-free (Veg)”. The calculator will exclude this ingredient from the list and recalculate the final weight of the dish.
