Blood alcohol calculator

📈 Accurate calculation of blood alcohol (ppm) and elimination time

Our online calculator helps you quickly determine the concentration of ethanol in the blood (in ppm) and predict when the body will be completely cleansed. The tool is indispensable for responsible driving and planning time after a feast.

❗ Attention: According to the law of the Russian Federation, the permissible alcohol limit for a driver is **0.3 ppm**. The calculator provides indicative data and does not replace a breathalyzer or medical examination.

How does the calculation work? (Widmark formula)

The service uses classical and scientifically based Widmark's formula adjusted for metabolism and gender characteristics. Basic input data:

  • **Gender and Weight:** These parameters affect the water content in the body (reduction coefficient).
  • **Type and Quantity of drink:** The concentration of pure alcohol (ethanol) is taken into account.
  • **Past tense:** Determines how much alcohol the liver has already processed.

Instructions: How to get an accurate result

  1. Indicate your **Gender** and **Weight**. If you are watching your weight, use our calorie calculator.
  2. Select a drink from the database or enter **strength** and **volume** yourself.
  3. Enter **time** elapsed since consumption (this is critical for calculation). To accurately track time, use our time calculator.
  4. Click “Calculate” and see the forecast.

The system will show your current level, your approximate condition, and the exact time when your level will reach **0.0 ppm**.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

❓ Why is the calculator result different from the breathalyzer?

The calculator gives an average forecast. The actual rate at which alcohol is eliminated is highly dependent on individual metabolism, health status, medications, and the amount of food in the stomach. The calculator does not take these factors into account, so its data is for informational purposes only.

❓ What is ppm and how does it relate to percentages?

Promille (‰) is a thousandth of a whole. 1 ppm means 1 gram of pure alcohol per 1 liter of blood. To understand the ratio, read our article "What is promille". For a general understanding of shares, use percentage calculator.

❓ When can you drive according to the law of the Russian Federation?

According to current legislation, the permissible alcohol content in a driver’s blood is 0.3 ppm. The calculator shows the approximate time to reach this level, but **never use it as proof** of your sobriety in court or the traffic police.
