Daily water requirement
💧 How much water do you really need to drink?
Forget the “8 glasses a day” myth. The need for water is individual and depends on your weight, activity and even the weather outside the window. Our algorithm uses medical formulas (including WHO recommendations) to provide an accurate answer.
What does your norm depend on?
- Body weight: The basic calculation is based on mass. If you are watching your weight, we also recommend checking your Body Mass Index (BMI).
- Activity: Sports accelerates moisture loss. Our formula adds hydration factor for training days.
- Environment: In hot weather, the body loses more moisture. If you are used to navigating different scales, use temperature converter to evaluate the conditions.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
☕ Do tea, coffee and soup count?
Yes, any liquid counts. However, doctors recommend that pure water make up at least 60–70% of the total volume, since caffeine can have a mild diuretic effect.
🏃 Do you need to drink more during sports?
Required. The calculator takes this into account when choosing your activity level, but the general rule is to drink an additional 400-600 ml of water for every hour of intense exercise.
✅ How do I know if I’m drinking enough?
The best indicators: lack of thirst, good concentration and light-colored urine. If you feel dry mouth or tired, drink a glass of water right now.
