🍰 How to change the recipe to suit the required number of guests?
Cooking is about creativity, but when it comes to proportions, it's math. If the recipe contains ingredients for 4 people, and you are expecting 10 guests (or vice versa, preparing dinner for two), our calculator will do the recalculation for you.
🚀 How it works:
- Enter the number of servings from the original recipe.
- Indicate how many servings you want in total.
- Add a list of products (name, weight/quantity).
- Click “Recalculate” - the system will proportionally change the weight of each product.
In what situations is this irreplaceable?
🎂 For confectioners and baked goods
In baking, precision is critical. If you make the wrong amount of flour or baking powder when scaling your cake recipe, the cake may not rise. The calculator guarantees accurate adherence to proportions (KBZHU).
📉 Reducing portions
Found a great recipe for a festive salad for a bucket, and you just need to try it? Enter “10” in the “In the recipe” field and “2” in the “Need” field - you will get a mini version of the shopping list.
🛒 Making a shopping list
After recalculation, you can click the “Copy list” button and send it to yourself in messenger so that the store knows the exact weight of the products. To convert grams to spoons/glasses use our kitchen converters.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
🔹 How to count eggs if you get a fractional number?
If the calculator says “1.5 eggs”, you have two options: use 2 small eggs (category C2) or beat 2 eggs in a bowl and pour out about three-quarters of the mass. In baking, it is better to round up.
🔹 Is it possible to recalculate the recipe according to the size of the form?
Yes! Instead of “person”, use area form. For example, if the recipe for a round shape is 20 cm, and yours is 24 cm, enter the squares of the radii (or just the diameters, if roughly) in the portions fields.
🔹 What to do with spices?
It is better to add salt, pepper and strong spices “to taste”, and not strictly according to the calculator, since with a strong increase in volume (for example, 10 times), a linear increase in the amount of salt can make the dish over-salted.
