Semantic SEO text analysis

💧 Why check the text for “water”?

“Watness” shows how much garbage there is in the text: stop words, prepositions, cliches and introductory constructions. This is a critical parameter for SEO.

🚀 Optimal norm: For informational articles, 25–45% is considered a good indicator. If it is above 60%, the text needs to be dried.

How to interpret the result?

Our algorithm analyzes text using a technique similar to search engines. Here's what the numbers mean:

  • 🟢 Up to 30% (Excellent): Dry, textured text. Ideal for news and technical instructions.
  • 🟡 30–45% (Norm): Standard for quality blog articles. The text is easy to read and does not look dry.
  • 🔴 Above 60% (Bad): A lot of unnecessary stuff. Remove phrases like “it’s no secret”, “in the modern world”, etc.

For a deep content check, we recommend using this tool in conjunction with word frequency analysis - this will help find spam and tautologies.

How to improve the text?

If the calculator shows a high percentage of water, try the following techniques:

  1. Remove introductory words: “Of course”, “certainly”, “as a rule” can often be removed without loss of meaning.
  2. Shorten sentences: Long phrases are difficult to understand. Check the average length of sentences through our text length calculator.
  3. More facts, fewer epithets:Replace “very fast” with specific speed numbers.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

❓ Wateriness and “nausea” of the text are the same thing?

No, these are different metrics. Waterness is the percentage of stop words (prepositions, conjunctions). Andnauseais the frequency of repetition of keywords (spam). High nausea is more dangerous for SEO.

❓ Is it possible to achieve 0% water?

Theoretically, yes, but such text will be impossible to read. Prepositions and conjunctions are needed to connect words. Don't aim for zero, aim for the 25-45% range.

❓ What are stop words?

These are words that do not carry a semantic load: and, but, or, I, you, which, this, your, etc. Search engines often ignore them when indexing, so their abundance “erodes” the relevance of the page.
