Calculation of bricks for building a house: Walls and partitions
Are you planning construction? Find out your wall budget in 1 minute
Purchasing wall material is the most expensive part of the “box” stage. In order not to order extra cars and not overpay for delivery of dovozki, you need to know exactly the volume of the masonry.
This tool will calculate the amount of ordinary (building) bricks for load-bearing walls and partitions of any thickness.
How to choose the wall thickness?
When calculations, it is important to correctly indicate the type of masonry, since the material consumption changes multiples:
- Half-brick (120 mm):Only for interior partitions. Not load-bearing.
- One brick (250 mm):For garages, sheds or internal load-bearing walls.
- One and a half bricks (380 mm): Minimum standard for load-bearing walls of a residential building (up to 2 floors).
- Two bricks (510 mm):For permanent buildings with heavy floors and high heat capacity.
Foreman's advice
Always calculate volume in cubic meters (m³) if you buy ordinary brick. Many suppliers ship goods in pallets, focusing on volume, and not individually. Our calculator gives both values.
