🐟 How to calculate caviar for the table and not go broke?
Red caviar is an expensive pleasure, so buying it “by sight” is dangerous: if you take a little, there won’t be enough for your guests, if you take a lot, it will hit your budget. Our calculator solves this problem by using restaurant food consumption rates.
Consumption rates (as we believe)
The calculations are based on classical banquet standards, proven by experience:
- Baguette: ~10 grams of caviar and 5 grams of butter per slice.
- Tartlet (small): ~7 grams of caviar and 3 grams of butter (on the bottom).
- White bread (brick): ~12 grams of caviar (a piece is usually cut diagonally into two triangles).
What does “Caviar Layer” mean in the settings?
We understand that everyone's budget is different, so we added the following factors:
- 📉 Economy (0.7): The eggs lie in one thin layer, the oil shines through. Suitable for large corporate events.
- 👌 Standard (1.0): Classic thick spread, like in a restaurant.
- 👑 From the Heart (1.5): “Merchant” option, when the caviar lies in a heap.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
❓ How much caviar is in one teaspoon?
A teaspoon “heaped” contains about 8-10 grams of caviar. In a flat spoon - about5-7 grams. This will help you portion out portions if you don't have a scale.
❓ How to properly defrost caviar?
If you bought frozen caviar, do not defrost it at room temperature or in hot water - it will “leak” and turn into mush. Transfer the jar from the freezer to refrigerator a day before serving.
❓ How long are ready-made sandwiches stored?
Don't make your sandwiches too far in advance! The caviar quickly weathers (dries out), and the bread/tartlet becomes soggy from the oil. The ideal cooking time is 30-60 minutesbefore guests arrive.
