OSAGO calculator
🚗 What does the price of compulsory motor insurance consist of?
The cost of the policy is no longer fixed. Since 2020, insurance companies have been using a tariff corridor. Our calculator shows the minimum and maximum limits of the cost of the policy established by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Basic tariff × CT × KBM × KVS × KM.
Deciphering the coefficients (what you can influence):
📍 CT (Territory)
Depends on the owner’s registration. In large cities (Moscow, Kazan) it is higher, in small settlements it is lower. It can only be changed by changing your registration.
🏎️ KM (Power)
The more powerful the engine, the more expensive the insurance.
• up to 50 hp. — discount (0.6)
• 70-100 hp. - standard (1.1)
• over 150 hp. — markup (1.6)
🛡️ KBM (Failure-Free)
The most important indicator. For every accident-free year you get a discount. The maximum discount is 54% (CBM 0.46). If there were an accident due to your fault, the price will increase by multiples.
👤 PIC (Age and experience)
Experienced drivers (over 59 years of age with >14 years of experience) pay the least. Young drivers without experience pay the maximum coefficient (2.27).
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
❓ Why does the calculator show the price range ("from" and "to")?
By law, insurance companies have the right to independently choose base rate within the corridor (from 1646 to 7535 rubles). We show the boundaries within which all insurers are required to comply.
❓ Do I need a diagnostic card (inspection) for purchase?
To purchase an MTPL policy for individuals for passenger cars, a diagnostic card is nownot required. However, a technical inspection is still required for the legal operation of a car older than 4 years.
❓ How to reduce the cost of the policy?
The only legal way is to drive without accidents (improve the driver's vehicle) and include only experienced drivers in your insurance. Limited insurance is almost always cheaper than multi-drive (unlimited).
The calculator uses tariffs current for 2025 (Instruction of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation). The data is for informational purposes only.
