🎓 What is SOC and why count it?

The average educational level (ALE) is the main indicator of the quality of education, which is required by head teachers and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. Unlike the usual "average grade", this indicator is expressed as a percentage and allows you to objectively compare performance in different classes, regardless of the number of students.

Calculation formula:
SAE = ((Average score - 1) / 4) × 100%

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the composition of the class:Total number of people and number of non-certified (“n/a”).
  2. Indicate the grades: How many fives, fours, threes and twos are there in the class.
  3. Get the result: The service will instantly calculate the percentage of SOC and determine the quality level (from critical to high).

SDA Level Table (Interpretation)

The resulting percentage must be checked against the standards in order to understand what measures the teacher should take:

SOU % Level Recommendation
85% – 100% High Maintain standards, work with the gifted.
70% – 84% Medium Normal. Strengthen the “growth zone.”
50% – 69% Satisfaction Corrective programs are needed.
Below 49% Low System diagnostics and verification required.

Frequently asked questions from teachers (FAQ)

❓ Why is the GPA more accurate than the average GPA?

GPA can be deceiving. For example, in a small class, one D will bring down the average score more than in a large class. SOU is a standardized indicator that “evens out” conditions and allows for a fair comparison of 5 “A” (30 people) and 5 “B” (15 people).

❓ How to take into account “n/a” (uncertified)?

The calculator automatically excludes them from the calculation base. If there are 25 people in a class, but 2 of them are “n/a” due to illness, the SRL will be calculated based on 23 students. This increases objectivity.

❓ What to do with “Certifications”?

The calculator only works with grades 2–5. If you have a Pass/Fail system, they need to be converted into points according to the school’s local act (usually Pass = 3 or 4 points).
