🥗 How to calculate food for Caesar and not make a mistake?
Caesar is the king of the festive table. But it’s difficult to guess with the quantity of products: if you buy a little, the guests will remain hungry, if you buy a lot, the leaves will wither and the budget will be wasted.
Our smart calculator solves this problem. It takes into account not only the number of guests, but also their appetite, as well as the type of serving (with chicken, shrimp or classic).
How does the algorithm work?
We included professional restaurant technological maps in the calculator, but adapted them for home cooking:
- Cooking/Frying Accounting: If you choose chicken, the calculator shows the weight of the raw fillet you need to buy (with a 40% margin for weight loss during frying).
- Understandable measures: We convert grams into understandable units - “heads of lettuce,” “loaves of bread,” “packages of cherry tomatoes.”
- Sauce proportions: The most common mistake is dry salad. We calculate the ideal amount of sauce so that every leaf is soaked.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
❓ Which portion to choose: 200, 300 or 400 gram?
— 200 g: If Caesar is just a light appetizer before the main main course.
— 300 g (Standard): Optimal for a buffet or dinner.
- 400 g:If salad is the main dish of the evening.
❓ Which salad is better to use: Iceberg or Romaine?
The classic recipe calls for Romano (it is spicier and harsher). But for home feasts they often use Iceberg - it is juicier, crispier and cheaper. Our calculator calculates the weight for any of them.
❓ How not to spoil the salad when serving?
The main rule: mix the salad with sauce and croutons strictly before serving. If you season it in advance (even 30 minutes in advance), the crackers will become soggy and the leaves will become limp.
