Snack calculator

🥂 How to calculate food for a holiday and not make a mistake?

The main fear of any party organizer is “guests will go hungry.” The opposite situation, when half of the food goes into the trash, also hits your pocket. Our calculator helps you find the golden mean.

⚙️ How does the algorithm work? We use proven catering formulas. For example, for a light buffet, a base of 250-300 g per person is taken, and for a long wedding - more than 1 kg of food (including hot and snacks) depending on the time.

Use scenarios

Select the appropriate event type in the calculator:

🍾 Light buffet (Welcome)

Suitable for presentations, opening exhibitions or welcoming guests before the main banquet. Duration is usually 1-2 hours. The emphasis is on canapés, fruits and light cheeses.

🎂 Standard feast

Classic birthday or house party (4-5 hours). Here you need hearty appetizers, salads and cold cuts so that guests can eat heartily.

💍 Wedding / Long Dinner

Events from 6 hours. Food consumption is as high as possible, since guests not only eat, but also actively move (dancing, competitions), which increases appetite.

💡 Tip: If you plan to buy groceries by sharing with friends, use our check split calculator to quickly calculate who should chip in how much.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

❓ Is it worth buying products “with a reserve”?

Our calculator already takes into account the average norms with a small margin. However, if there will be a lot of men at the holiday or active outdoor recreation is planned, we recommend adding another 10-15% to the final weight.

❓ Are drinks included in this calculation?

No, this tool only counts the weight of food (snacks). Alcohol and juices are calculated using other formulas (usually 0.5–0.7 liters of wine or 0.3–0.5 liters of strong alcohol per person).

❓ What is included in the “Sliced Meat” category?

This includes sausages, boiled pork, ham, carpaccio, and meat rolls. For buffets, it is better to choose products that are easy to pick up with a fork or hand.
