Calculate your ideal supply of vitamins for the holidays
Tangerine calculator
🎄 The main New Year's question: how much to take?
New Year without tangerines is like Olivier without mayonnaise: it seems like a holiday, but the atmosphere is missing. But every year we are faced with the same problem: either the tangerines run out before the clock strikes, or after a week we have to throw away the spoiled fruit.
💡 Why do you need this calculator?
We have developed an ideal formula that takes into account not only the number of guests, but also their “tangerine addiction”, the size of the fruit and the duration of your vacation. No more guessing at the counter!
How does the calculation work?
Our algorithm takes into account three key factors:
- The company's appetite: Some people eat one thing for the smell, while others (we call them “tangerine monsters”) destroy kilograms unnoticed.
- Fruit size: 1 kg can contain 12 large (royal) tangerines or 18-20 small (Abkhazian/Turkish). The calculator takes this into account.
- Period: Do you buy only for New Year's Eve or do you want enough vitamins until the Old New Year?
🍊 Tips for selection and storage
To ensure that tangerines survive until the end of the holidays, follow the simple rules that we have collected:
📦 How to store?
No plastic bags! In them, fruits “suffocate” and become moldy in 2 days. The best place is an insulated balcony (at +6...+8°C) or the bottom drawer of the refrigerator. Store them in a net or open box.
🛒 Which ones to choose?
Abkhazian: sweet and sour, easy to clean, not stored for long.
Moroccan:sweet, bright orange, seedless, lasts longer.
Turkish: often with sourness and seeds, the cheapest.
If you are planning a large purchase for a company and are chipping in money, use our tool account splitting to honestly spread the costs.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
❓ How many tangerines are in one kilogram?
Depends on the variety: small (Moroccan or Abkhazian) - about 10-14 pieces. Large ones (Spanish or hybrids) - 6–8 pieces. Our calculator allows you to select the size for an accurate calculation.
❓ Can tangerines make you fat?
Tangerines have few calories (about 38 kcal per 100g), but a lot of sugar (fructose). Nutritionists do not recommend eating more than 4-5 pieces at a time, so as not to cause allergies or stomach problems.
❓ How to revive dried tangerines?
If the fruits are simply dried out, but not spoiled, use them in compote, mulled wine, or make candied fruits from the peels. Eating them fresh is no longer so tasty.
